Our Story

Mattie Miller Story

Mattie Miller's story reads like a well-worn recipe card: simple beginnings, unexpected turns, and a whole lot of grit mixed in. Raised Amish in Wisconsin as the youngest of ten, her life changed the night she left home with nothing but the clothes on her back. Stepping into the modern world meant learning everything from scratch, relying on determination and the kindness of strangers to build a new life.

As a young adult, she faced challenges that would shape her resilience, including becoming a single mother after surviving trauma. With no formal schooling, she learned through experience, working hard and eventually settling in Montana, where she began rebuilding her life with quiet strength and independence.

Her jam business began with a simple challenge: to create a jalapeño raspberry jelly. After multiple attempts, she perfected the recipe, winning blue ribbons at the Lincoln County Fair and discovering a passion that would grow into something bigger.

After stepping away in 2015 and moving to Ohio, she eventually felt the pull to return to her dream. In 2022, she restarted her business from home, later moving back to Montana and committing to it full time. With determination, she expanded beyond markets and worked to get her jams onto store shelves.

Today, Mattie's journey is a story of perseverance and purpose. From a single jar to a growing business, she continues to build something meaningful, proving that even the hardest roads can lead to something sweet.

Recipe Idea: Jalapeño Raspberry Phyllo Cups

  • Place frozen phyllo cups in a cupcake pan.
  • Soften 1 block of cream cheese and mix until creamy.
  • Add a spoonful of cream cheese to each cup, then top with Jalapeño Raspberry Jelly.
