Keeping the Creativity Flowing: Creating New Recipes While Growing Mattie's Jams & Jellies

One of the questions I get asked most often is, "How do you keep coming up with new flavors?"

The truth is, creating new recipes is one of my favorite parts of owning Mattie's Jams & Jellies. Even as we continue to grow, sell at farmers markets, and expand onto store shelves, the excitement of experimenting in the kitchen never goes away.

Every batch starts with curiosity.

Sometimes it's a fresh harvest of fruit that inspires a new idea. Other times it's a flavor combination that pops into my head while cooking dinner or talking with customers at a market. Many of our best ideas come directly from conversations with the people who stop by our booth and share what flavors they love.

As our business grows, balancing creativity with production becomes more important than ever. While we continue making customer favorites like our Jalapeño Raspberry Jelly and Huckleberry Jam, we're always testing new recipes behind the scenes. Not every experiment makes it into a jar for sale, but every batch teaches us something new.

The farmers markets have become one of our greatest sources of inspiration. We get to meet people face-to-face, hear their feedback, and learn what they want to see next. Those conversations help shape the future of our product line and keep us connected to the community that supports us.
